How diverse is Indian children’s literature?

India is a diverse country. There’s rural and urban India, with multiple languages and diverse cultures. Can one child’s dosa be another child’s chilla? Are we addressing all of these in Children’s Literature or are we only looking at a certain class of audience to write for? Adding to this is the inclusiveness that we talk about: colour, gender, special needs etc. Again, the discussion revolves around how much of all this is included in literature for children.
