Joe Robertson is a British playwright and alongside Joe Murphy, the co-founding Artistic Director of Good Chance Theatre. Good Chance built its first temporary theatre space in the Jungle refugee camp in Calais in 2015, and now works in the UK and around Europe creating spaces of expression, welcome and introductions between local and newly arrived people. Joe and Joe’s play, The Jungle, opened at the Young Vic Theatre in London last year, before transferring to a sell-out run at the Playhouse Theatre in the West End. In December it will move to St Ann’s Warehouse in New York, before embarking on an international tour. Joe and Joe are recipients of the Evening Standard Theatre Award (2016), the Peter Brook Empty Space Award (2016), the Southbank Theatre Award (2018) and the Genesis Prize (2018).
